Amalia Shaltiel is the main instructor of Moving Water Tai Chi Circle. She has been a student of Tai Chi Chuan for more than 30 years and began teaching in 1985. From 1980 to 1984 and then again from 1988 – 1990 she studied under Wolfe Lowenthal, student of Professor Cheng Man Ching and Author of There are No Secrets and other books on the wonderful qualities of Tai Chi Chuan. She moved to State College in 1990 and has been teaching private classes in the area ever since. She has taught Tai Chi in Elder Hostel programs and teaches  Health Matters courses for Penn State University employees. In 2002 she started teaching college courses on Tai Chi Chuan at Penn State University through the Kinesiology Department, instructing 4-5 classes a semester. In the mid 90s she took up the study of Qi Gong and is continuously developing her understanding and knowledge of the art.  She is also a trained Reiki master.
